Anúncio sobre o Brasil em 1944 nos EUA

Fazendo parte da enorme série de “amigos” na Segunda Guerra Mundial este foi publicado no The Daily Times - Jul 25, 1944, mas se entende que foram em centenas ou milhares de jornais em torno da mesma semana. A arte mostra soldados americanos relaxando numa praia com palmeiras e um “neguinho” todo desconjuntado depois de tentar acertar um soco no enorme americano branco, numa brincadeira num rinque de  boxe improvisado. Um visão bem racista, mas é quase impossível aparecer negros nas propagandas da Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Some months before US entered in World War 2, men were in uniforms and training for the protection of liberty and democracy. Coca-Cola ads reflected that moment in the American society as a constant mirror along the decades.

This one needs some clarification. It's from a 1945 WW2 ad. It shows some interesting items. At the wall there is one of the "careless talk" posters and two Coca-Cola allied airplanes posters. Playing the cards, from the left we have a Canadian army sergeant, a sailor, an army corporal translator (T) or technician. If he is a technician, may be one of the Coca-Cola technicians on the front that operated the small Coca-Cola portable combat plants. Then there is a British airmen (probably not a pilot because the ranks of the other at the room) and a first class sailor. They are playing with a Airplane Recognition Card Deck distributed by thousands everywhere for the allied soldiers. During the war some 5 to 10 different decks with actualized combat airplanes, both allied and enemy were issued by Coca-Cola.
